Oddly, once you get into the floral department, things look a bit nicer. I don't know why they didn't set things up to present a better image to people walking into the store, something Safeway is normally pretty good at.
As cool as it is to see such an old decor package, the version of the 80s decor that this store has is... not great. All it has is some faded stock photos and plain text on a red-and-grey striped background. While there are some pretty cool decor packages from the 80s, that era seems to have been similar to today, where most stores had fairly cheap and uninteresting designs. Maybe in a few years we'll see a new wave of elaborate decor packages like what happened in the mid-late 90s.
