This has to be among the most run-down scenes I've ever photographed. I've been to some stores that looked worse than this one overall (such as the Pak 'n Save I recently posted, which I visited just a couple hours before this store), but we have a lot concentrated into one image here: terrible flooring (some of which was apparently patched with metal plates instead of vinyl for some reason), displays made out of pallets, patchy aisle markers, and, obviously, ancient decor. As cool as stores like this are for us retail fans, I can't imagine many people liked to shop here, especially with other, much nicer options around (including a larger, freshly-remodeled Safeway just over a mile away, and an Asian supermarket, which admittedly looks only slightly less run down, across the street).
