Dull grey

I'm not entirely sure what I was trying to do with this photo angle! Maybe I was trying (without much hope) to get the thank you sign in the photo, or maybe I was just trying to avoid employees, but either way, it's pretty wonky. The checkouts here, painted in the blandest grey color imaginable, are an interesting mini version with a small belt upstream of the register and none downstream; these certainly look old enough to be from the 80s with the rest of this decor, when conveyor belt checkouts probably still seemed exotic and modern! After all, stores like Albertsons (and even some Safeways) continued using turntable checkouts well into the 90s.
