Even the transition from meat to pharmacy is exactly like so many other Safeways. However, this store has dramatically more aisles than normal (19, versus around 10-12 for a typical store) -- at over 60,000 square feet, Max Foods built a store that was much larger than anything Safeway was interested in at the time.
