Across the actionway is the "gastronomia", a word that doesn't translate super well into English (Google just suggests "gastronomy", which seems wrong or at least overly pretentious for its typical Italian use), but it's basically what Safeway would call the prepared foods counter, or what Kroger would call the Bistro. They even have rotisserie chicken, which has become a staple of grocery store prepared food over here. I love the fancy glass wall surrounding the kitchen area!
