Butcher Block

The far end of the (very large) service counter is signed as the meat department, though the self-service meat section is back where we just came from. This store has the fancy frameless glass service cases throughout the meat department, and also got pretty nice new tile inside the service department (black tile similar to Modern Deluxe for the meat side and blue small tile on the seafood end).

This looks pretty nice except for the misaligned hanging meat section signs! At least they look misaligned from this photo.

Shortening beverages to 'bevs' is a bit to Californian for my liking, but otherwise those aisle markers look pretty good. I wonder why they used 'bar soap' instead of saying bath soap or something like that, but I guess everyone will know what they are trying to say even if people use body wash instead of bar soap. I still prefer bar soap anyway!

    1. Unfortunately, I don't remember if the hanging signs were as wonky in person or if it's just a trick of the camera angle in this picture, but I hope it's just a photo thing!

Safeway has done a lot of weird things with aisle marker categories lately. I hardly even pay attention any longer!
