Historically, Ralphs (and most other Kroger brands to use the branding) have used "Fresh Fare" as a term to designate the entire store concept that these stores use (even if it's no longer clear where the difference between a Fresh Fare and a regular store actually is). Reclaimed uses the brand in its own different way, making it refer specifically to the prepared foods department. Fresh Fare is a fairly good name for that department, but it does seem a little confusing for it to mean two completely different things, even within this one store (it's still branded as a Ralphs Fresh Fare store on the outside)... not that most shoppers are likely to pay any attention to that.
What bizarre signage. 'the' is completely lowercase, 'Fresh' has only the 'F' capitalized, and 'FARE" is completely uppercase. Also, it looks like each word is a different size and two are cursive and one is not.
ReplyDelete'Meats & Cheese' is also a bit of an odd one to me. Shouldn't it be 'Meat & Cheese' or 'Meats & Cheeses'? I feel like we've had this debate before in reference to Safeway Modern so maybe it isn't worth rehashing here again, lol.
The fonts used in this package are all over the place... I haven't really gone into that yet since it doesn't really rise to the top of the things I don't like about it! 😃
DeleteI don't think we've talked about this exact issue before, but it doesn't really bother me for some reason. I feel like it's more common to hear "meats" than "cheeses", but maybe that's just me.
