It probably isn't a good sign that some sort of "energy management alarm" was already going off at a brand-new store, but no one will ever know since the strobe apparently flashes so quickly that it's impossible to get a photo of it! Even 240fps slow motion could barely handle it, to my surprise. I have no clue what this alarm might actually be about, but presumably something isn't right!
I'm guessing this is some kind of temperature alarm for the refrigerated equipment which might be related to a power saving mode, but it is a bit strange that this is out on the salesfloor rather than at some sort of store office or backroom! Then again, with the understaffing that grocers are known for these days, especially the Seattle Safeways, I suppose they want customers to monitor the store equipment for the store! I don't know what to think of that. At least you'll know if something is off-temperature unless this is some kind of false alarm...which is entirely possible given the flaky nature of new equipment.
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting video! The way the light looks on the video is quite interesting! Maybe Save Mart is smart for keeping their ancient, but reliable refrigeration equipment, lol.
It might be on the salesfloor just because there isn't really any backroom space around here, but I have also seen other stores with similar alarms, just not when they were going off!
DeleteHaha, that assumes Save Mart is properly maintaining their equipment, which you can never be sure of! I know we stopped buying perishables at the original Saar's Marketplace in Port Angeles (not the one in the old Albertsons) because their old refrigeration systems were very clearly not keeping food at proper temperatures!
