It's quite strange to me for this store to have such a large meat section without a service counter -- most Safeways in this size range, even fairly old ones, have a proper service meat counter. On the subject of missing service departments, this store also lacks a pharmacy and a Starbucks kiosk, both of which are common omissions for undersized Safeways (though the similarly-sized Uptown store has all three of those, albeit without a proper service bakery) -- it's a shame about the missing pharmacy, though, since the U District currently doesn't have a pharmacy of any sort, with Bartell, Walgreens, and CVS all having closed in the past few years.
