I just had to get a closeup of the awesome deli sign before heading on my way around the rest of the store. The fake skylights up here are extra cool, featuring mirrored panels at the far end to give the illusion of them going far into the wall. I think I like these even more than the ones in the produce department!
This deli is awesome! I love the stained glass and skylight effect. Like Anonymous from Houston mentioned, I also get a bit of a Grand Union vibe from this department, as Grand Union had a stained glass/wood paneling phase back in the 1980's as well. Other stores probably did too, but I know a lot of GU stores with that decor lasted into the 2000's as that chain slowly faded away.

DeleteWhat a cool sign! Those mirrored panels are really awesome, too. Acme had a similar thing in their produce departments in the 90's. They really do look like they go through the wall.
