Desserts to go

Passing the checkouts, the dairy/juice department transitions into the bakery, which is the biggest single improvement this store has over its predecessor. Safeway managed to fit a full-size service bakery into this store, replacing the sad half of an aisle that was all the old store had. I've seen Safeways with far less of a bakery selection than even the old U District location, but that has to have been the worst in Seattle!
