I quite like these geometrically-shaped balloons that have started showing up in the past few years! I'm not sure if they're truly a new thing or not, but they're still cool. Anyway, the front end at this store is surprisingly small, even by Safeway standards, with just 3 regular checkouts (that's even fewer than the Uptown store has!) and a normal-sized self checkout section. This might also be the only Safeway I've ever visited to not have a single express lane!
Ha, well, it sounds like in your area, Safeway is never going to have more than three manned checkouts open so I guess three is enough...by Safeway's own standards at least! I don't think this would fly at a Portland Safeway though!
ReplyDeleteRandall's is just about the only supermarket here in Houston where I see people buying balloons like that. I hardly ever see it at Kroger or at other stores. In fact, whenever I go to Randall's, it seems like at least one person is buying a balloon like that or some kind of floral item! I'm not sure if Seattle is the same way.
Did you see the design on that woman's bag? It is about Seattle's weather and it has someone using an umbrella! I'm sure you'll have something to say about that, lol.
You're probably right, but that doesn't make me any happier about the situation! 😉 I guess I shouldn't really care, since I always use self checkout if I have the choice, but the lack of open regular checkouts does tend to lead to long lines at self checkout.
DeleteI don't tend to see all that many people buying floral items or balloons in our Safeways, which makes me wonder why they always have such a large floral department!
Yeah, that's the "Seattle Rain Festival" design that shows up from time to time. I suspect it's geared towards people who don't particularly enjoy Seattle's weather!
