Classic bridge, classic truck

With this store being the closest Safeway to the Golden Gate Bridge (not counting Andronico's), it's fitting that it has one of the model bridges that Safeway put in various San Francisco stores! And this one has an extra touch -- a model of a vintage Safeway semi. I saw trailers of this design hanging out behind some older Safeways on this trip, and even visited a store with this design still on its facade!

The funny thing is that when the trucks with that logo were in use, which was after 1981, this store was already somewhat well-aged! Of course, this store is aging like fine wine...which is probably appropriate for a Safeway in NorCal, lol. But, yeah, aside from the neat truck, this is a neat display!

Oh, I was going to add that the Marina Albertsons in Bend, OR seems to have one of these Safeway trucks permanently docked to the back of the store for additional storage. It's a bit strange to see that at an Albertsons, but I suppose it isn't that strange. This is near the last remaining Blockbuster Video. Link: https://goo.gl/maps/GaHiqFWh3BTHh9AG6

    2. True, though 1981 is much closer to the time this store was built than it is to today!

That is strange! Albertsons/Safeway certainly isn't overly concerned about mixing brand names, as we've seen so many times, but it seems weird to see it displayed quite so prominently, and even weirder since it's at a store that looks more like a Safeway than an Albertsons from the outside! Eastern Oregon has a lot of interesting stuff to see if I ever make it out there.
