Even better, this was one of the few stores to get the fancy bakery canopy and central on-display oven, a design that seems to have been used sporadically throughout the Lifestyle v2/v2.1 era (though it appears to have been much more commonly used in California than I had expected!). I'm sure this would have looked even nicer back in the day when Safeway had a fully-staffed bakery and the gas oven would have actually been in use while shoppers were around, rather than seemingly just overnight as is the case these days. (I miss the days of fresh, hot french bread in the evenings!)
