I honestly don't even know what that oval illustration is supposed to be

The pharmacy sign a few pictures back may have been horribly faded, but at least it was obvious what it was supposed to be; the bakery one, meanwhile, is just an offputting amorphous blob! Looking at the floor here, it's striking how similar it is to Safeways that received a cheap Modern remodel -- plain white vinyl with a faux-wood border along the service cases. Strangely, Proto-Lifestyle's deluxe actionway flooring stops short of the bakery area, even though it would have looked way better than this plain white stuff in this relatively large, open area. The bakery itself, unsurprisingly, looks almost identical to the later Lifestyle-era ones, and pretty much the same as what you would find in a normal Safeway today; the extra-tall case for wedding cakes isn't something I've noticed elsewhere, though.
