Hardware corner

Pre-remodel, this store still had its full Fred Meyer hardware department, one of the things that really set them apart from their hypermarket competitors (honestly, probably the only thing left to set them apart on the general merchandise side in the 2010s), complete with a large service counter for paint, keys, and other general hardware stuff, though full-time staffing has long since been cut and I imagine it would be quite difficult to find an employee to help with any of the services, sadly. That, combined with Kroger completely giving up on price competitiveness in general merchandise, is probably why I hardly ever see people shopping in these departments.
