Tortilleria and Panaderia

Not only did Campeón keep a service bakery in this store, they expanded it significantly, taking up most of what would have been the customer part of the bakery for additional prep space. They had a lot of stuff that looked quite good, too, and I had considered buying something from here, but I ended up having to make a quick exit so that didn't happen.

  1. It is interesting that this supermarket has a service bakery. In a way, I'm not surprised because they are common at our Hispanic supermarkets and they are usually quite prominent. If nothing else, the smell of the bakeries are quite prominent! That said, it seems that maybe bakeries are less common in Florida Hispanic supermarkets. The difference might be that this one and the ones in Houston mostly serve Mexican and Central American populations compared to Florida ones which serve mostly Caribbean and South American populations. Well, whatever the case is, it's good that this place has a bakery!

    1. This store kept all of its grocery service departments from the Albertsons days, which is somewhat unusual for a grocery store reuse like this, but not too surprising for a Hispanic grocery store from what I've seen. They even still have hot food in the deli!
