This store's bakery was already significantly more walled-off from the salesfloor than typical at Safeways, and the replacement of one of the service counter sections with tall frozen cases doesn't help. Oh well, at least it helps cover up the fact that Safeway no longer fully staffs their "service" bakeries (at least in the Puget Sound region -- I was surprised to see on my trip to Spokane and Eastern Washington that most of the stores over there seemed to have much better staffing; I guess the lower cost of living means that Safeway doesn't pay their employees as much and therefore they can afford to have more employees per store). And as is typical with these carbon-copy decor swaps, Safeway left a lot of this store's oddities in place, including the liquor department's intrusion under the bakery decor.
