I suspect this facade was always intended to look like multiple separate buildings, but the new modern entryway still looks very out of place. Sadly, all four of the storefronts here are now empty -- Barney's New York (to the left of the entrance), Tiffany and Co, J. Crew, and Barnes & Noble (which I've posted previously, barely visible on the right of the picture).
