Welcome to the White Center Safeway -- lights on edition!

I must have been quite intrigued by this store, since I came back just a week later to see it with the lights on! And this is a rather intriguing store -- it's one of the only stores built as a Fred Meyer Marketplace, during a time in which Fred Meyer's typical stores were probably the largest of any major retail company (certainly the largest in this area, since Walmart Supercenters didn't start showing up around here until somewhat later and we never got Super Targets), I have no idea how much about it is leftover from Fred Meyer (it's clear that Safeway went to a lot of trouble to make some parts of the store fit their standard, but other parts are rather weird for Safeway, and I have no idea what a new-build Fred Meyer Marketplace layout would have looked like), and at 62,000 square feet, this store is absolutely massive for a Northwest Safeway. Oh, and it's got a lot of weird things in common with the Port Angeles store I grew up with, despite their widely divergent histories.
