Back wall

The back aisle of this store is just as cramped and cluttered as you would expect from a store that's probably not even 20,000 square feet. (It's hard to measure from Google Maps since it's in a strip center and it's hard to tell where the Safeway ends, but this store was probably on the small end even in 1966, so it's admirable to see Safeway fitting in as much as they can in this place.) Luckily, the store wasn't overly crowded with shoppers, though it certainly wasn't empty either relative to a lot of other Safeways I've been in.

  1. Wow is that tight! It seems that two carts side-by-side would just barely be able to squeeze through. I'm sure there are a lot of "excuse mes" and cart shuffling just to allow people to go through that back aisle!

    1. Perhaps, though fortunately I doubt this store is busy enough to make that particularly common! A modern actionway this isn't, for sure...
