Like the upstairs "pearl room", the pink section on the lower level is named the rose room in reference to Portland's common nickname, the Rose City. The rose room is home to kids' books -- I could have sworn those used to be in the next-door Orange Room, but looking at old maps posted online, I guess they've always been over here. (Just goes to show you that you probably shouldn't trust my memories!)
