While the store's sign was on the second floor of the building, the actual store is on the first floor (visible through the nice street-level windows) and in the basement. While I'm pretty sure this was a large store for a Barnes & Noble, the split-level arrangement made it feel small to me (and I also suspect I just think that in comparison to the giant, long-gone Borders Books that I loved as a kid).
