Peeking at dairy

Next to the meat alcove is a separate alcove that houses the dairy department. This contains perhaps the most notable feature of the Grocery Palace decor (at least the watered-down version seen in this store) -- the milk barn! I'll have a better picture tomorrow, but even from this rather obscured angle, it still looks pretty neat! 🙂 I have to wonder if the tall case in the foreground was originally something shorter (perhaps a coffin cooler, as Albertsons used to use those extensively in the dairy department), as the view of the barn decor is quite obscured from the main part of the store and it certainly feels like Albertsons paid enough attention to detail with these stores to have designed it this way. Then again, this certainly seems like a scaled-down version of a true Grocery Palace store (in size as well as decor), so who knows.
