As a little side trip, today and tomorrow I'll be covering the abandoned Walgreens across the street. This store was built in 1997, and closed towards the end of 2016. Despite the apparently valuable location (the land is assessed at over 6 million dollars, and the owners are paying nearly $50,000 per year in property taxes), it doesn't look like there have been any moves to redevelop or retenant the site. So this place just sits here, vacant and ugly (it's not from one of Walgreen's nice building phases), and combining with the now-vacant Safeway across the street to make a rather unpleasant entryway to the heart of Greenwood from the north.
