If you're wondering why I took so many close-up pictures rather than the normal wide-angle ones, well, that last picture should explain it -- the giant concrete columns holding up the office building above -- we have crazy structural requirements here because of our earthquakes -- made for some very obstructed views. (Also, since it was a "grand opening", I didn't feel nearly as conscious about visibly taking pictures here as I normally would.) This picture should help show the scale of the combined meat and seafood department here -- much smaller than in the old store, probably the only thing that's a noticeable downgrade. I do quite like the icons on the tile walls, though!
