Southcenter is one of the only suburban retail places I've ever seen that can actually fill its parking lot almost to capacity, rather than sitting in a sea of empty parking spaces! Looks like people were even double-parking in the drop-off loop outside the food court entrance. It seems crazy to even try to drive here in the busy season, considering you have to wait in traffic just to get into the parking lot, then drive around in hopes of finding a space that's probably going to be at the far reaches of the parking lot. But getting suburban people to skip driving seems to be all but impossible; this mall is very well served by transit, but whenever I take the bus here there are never very many people taking it to the mall.
