In general, the decor here held up remarkably well for its age (compared to the similar-age decor at Pak 'n Save, Safeway's own 90s decor, and honestly many much newer decor packages from all sorts of chains). The only real fail (other than the weird color tone of the product photos, which may have been original) is the "appetizers" sign in the deli, where the last few letters were mounted on a HVAC grate and have since gone missing. I wonder if they fell off on their own (they can't have been stuck there particularly well considering that almost the entire footprint of the letters would have been on the grate) or if someone needed to get into that grate at some point and didn't bother putting the letters back up. Judging by the labelscar, it looks as if the S may have been installed way too low originally too, so this sign may have always looked awful!
