Turning around, the division between the normal corridors and this odd little corner is quite obvious. The T&T court has more of an 80s or early 90s feel in my mind. My guess is that this area was once a walk-through anchor tenant (something that malls have tried off and on over the years, generally without success) that was later separated off and turned into part of the mall corridor, but that's a complete guess.
