Fresh corner

It's always a bit weird to see a combined deli/bakery section at Safeway. It seems like the decor designers weren't entirely sure what to do with this either -- one of the deli pictures is on the bakery's yellow background, while that whole stretch of wall (including the bread picture) is above part of the deli counter! The tall island cases here were probably added in the Safeway conversion, and some Modern remodels included similar ones (which look awkward in pretty much every store they're in).

Ha, this looks right at home at a Houston Randall's! In fact, my local Randall's is set up just like this, except that it has low ceilings and fascias in that part of the store and it has Colorful Lifestyle v2 vs. Lifestyle v3!

Speaking of Lifestyle v3, have you seen AFB's recent post featuring some knockoff Lifestyle v3 decor in a former Albertsons? It is certainly reminiscent of this one! Link: https://albertsonsfloridablog.blogspot.com/2026/04/former-albertsons-4410-kissimmee-fl.html

    1. Interesting! I suppose this is a fairly common layout and it's just weird for me since it's in a Safeway.

I actually kind of like that knockoff decor! It has a bit more going on than Lifestyle v3, which is not the most exciting decor out there. But some of the department signs (especially "delicatessen" and "butcher") really do look like they were copied almost directly from this package.
