The back right corner of the store is home to the meat and seafood department, without a service counter (as is typical for pre-Lifestyle Safeways). It's interesting to see the different tile colors for the meat and seafood sides of the department (or at least I'm assuming that's what they were trying to do here; the oval signs above don't line up with the different tile colors), and I have to wonder why they didn't install a proper department sign here even though it seems like there's plenty of space.
Oh, and since this is Oregon, of course there were fireworks for sale inside the store. I don't know if I'll ever get over that! And when I posted christmas-y pictures on halloween last month, I joked I'd have to find another inappropriate holiday to feature for thanksgiving -- well, here you go!

I thought that in many ways, the meat area was the most un-Safeway like looking area of the store just because of the color scheme! It might be normal for Proto Lifestyle, but it is certainly quite a difference from what I've become used to with Lifestyle v1/v2/Colorful Lifestyle v2. The look of this area really caught my eye when I was in the store and it looked like probably the most dated aspect of the store. Even then, it still didn't look bad.
ReplyDeleteInteresting timing catching the girl leaping in the air! Jumping for joy at a Proto Lifestyle Safeway I suppose, lol.
