Despite this store's age, and despite it never having received a Lifestyle remodel, this store has service departments that are on par with any typical modern Safeway. That starts with the deli, which has a standard prepared/hot foods department and even a dedicated sign for the "Express Meals" section, which I don't think was particularly common. The deli is probably the part of the store that changed the most from Proto-Lifestyle to Lifestyle v1, since in Proto-Lifestyle its decor matches the rest of the store, rather than being completely different like in v1 (or v2 for that matter).
