What's weird is the other curved-floral 70s store that I've documented had a much smaller and more conventional deli design. I honestly don't remember if the old Port Angeles one had a deli at all -- I don't think so, but considering I'm pretty sure I was still in preschool when it closed, I can't really rely on my memories from back then! It's also interesting to see that the deli sign here has a grey painted background instead of the normal woodgrain paneling used for service departments -- I guess adapting that to a curved soffit would have been too complicated!
It's weird to see how empty the cheese island here was. I wonder if that's related to all of the about-to-expire products we saw back in the dairy department (and this store's ordering was all messed up), or if that was just a normal thing in the COVID supply chain era and I've just forgotten these things already!
