And finally, here's a view of the upstairs space itself. It was just being used for random storage in 2022, probably a legacy of the COVID restrictions that hadn't been gone for too long at that point. I like how this space looks directly out onto the SkyTrain tracks and Burquitlam Station! The area itself, which I'm guessing was originally used as an in-store dining area, looks like something straight out of the Lifestyle era, from the beige flooring to the faux stone surrounding the faux fireplace -- it's almost like Sobey's lifted the design from some of the other Safeway stores they took over! Nothing else about the store looks remotely Safeway-like, so I doubt this was designed before the Canadian split.
