Our checkout promise to you

The checkouts were left mostly as is with the semi-remodel, apart from the ubiquitous Bountiful+ cubes being installed in place of the original register lights (with the original taller posts left in place, partially blocking the new cubes). Even the "our promise to you" sign and weird metal grates were left in place. I have some doubts about the "faster checkout" ads, though -- I can't imagine paying on the app saves all that much time, when most of the delay associated with checkout is simply due to waiting in line!

There is some Kroger antiquity in this photo, roll-up checkstands! Maybe it isn't surprising that QFC held onto roll-up checkstands until fairly recently, and maybe they even still have them. There are a few Krogers here in Houston that have them. I know of two specifically. They are certainly a touch of class, though I doubt QFC has the proper carts for roll-up checkstands. The Krogers here which have them just have standard carts.

    1. Lots of QFCs still have these -- they probably don't have room for full-size modern checkouts! I'm pretty sure these newer stores never had the special high-deck carts, so QFC seems to be used to using these with standard carts.
