On the plus side, the destroyed entrance doors had actually been replaced, quicker than I would have expected. Maybe Sears was able to get money from the bad driver's insurance. Considering the amount of leaves on the floor, it doesn't look like they were able to afford even basic upkeep and cleaning!

Nothing says a fall sale like leaves in the middle of the store! It seems your trees actually have fall colors. Around here, leaves are either green or brown with very little in between!
ReplyDeleteIn fairness to Sears, our stores were maintained at least reasonably well up until they closed in 2020. They were certainly maintained better than a lot of healthy retailers here in the 2020s. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Kroger, lol. Macy's and JCPenney too, though I don't know if they really count as healthy retailers these days.
It depends on the weather. Most years we do have good fall color, but there have been several years lately where drought conditions were so bad that the leaves did just turn brown, a month or so before they should have changed colors.
