And to wrap this up, let's loop back around to the front entrance where we started. Back when I started this set, I said I was conflicted on whether this or Spokane Valley was my favorite mall, but having thought about it a bit more, I feel like these places are really completely different things that just happen to both be called malls. So I've decided that Spokane Valley is my favorite traditional suburban American mall, and International Village is my favorite "urban-format" mall, the kind of place without anchor stores or large footprints that tends to be common in Europe but much less so in North America (with most examples being rather unsuccessful, like this one). There, problem solved!
Next up, a return to Southcenter, which is certainly not one of my favorite malls (but which is actually successful)!
