Triple-wide

Backing up to the aisles again for a moment, it's quite obvious that Albertsons ran out of ideas for what they could do with all of the space in this store. I know double-wide aisles are fairly common in areas with larger grocery stores, but I haven't seen a triple-wide aisle like this before! This feels like something you'd see in a Publixsons, not a live Albertsons. Off to the right, you can just about see the US Bank signage; the bank is weirdly hidden back in the corner (especially now that the pickup area has taken over part of the salesfloor).

  1. Triscuit and cases of water in the middle of the cosmetics aisle - that's random! I wonder if this triple wide aisle was original to the Santa Fe remodel or not. Albertsons used to be known for having a large beauty/cosmetics selection in the early-mid 2000's, which I wouldn't be surprised was trimmed back extensively under SuperValu or post-Safeway, leading to this as the answer to how to use the extra space after beauty shrunk.

    1. I'm not sure! I'd guess it was a fairly recent thing, but I'm not all that familiar with Albertsons cosmetics departments.
