T&T = well, who knows really

I like the store history wall in the produce department, which appears to have been signed by Tina and Tiffany themselves (the silver writing on the right side looked like silver sharpie, not part of the print). The origins of the store's name seem to be a bit controversial, though -- the sign clearly states that it stands for the names of the original founders' kids, but Wikipedia calls that "a popular story", backing that up with a couple references which don't really say that. The only part that's not up for debate is that the company previously said that the name was a reference to the companies that first invested in T&T (one of which is the owner of 99 Ranch Market, which T&T is now directly competing with), but that leaves a couple options for the "Tina & Tiffany" story -- perhaps it is a modern invention thought up by marketers wanting to put a personal touch into it all, or perhaps the name had a double meaning from the start. I tend to prefer the latter option (because naming a store after the companies that invested in it just seems weird), but if it is the first one, the only people who know for sure have a vested interest in not telling us that, so we'll never know for sure.

This wall is right about where Walmart's side entrance was, meaning that produce is in more or less the same area as it was in the Walmart days -- though T&T has a much larger selection, obviously! The floor plans I have for this store show that side entrance being used for T&T's online order pickup service, but I didn't see any signs of that operating on my visit -- maybe they were still waiting for the hype (and crowds) to calm down a bit.
