Welcome to the Bothell Safeway!

This store was built in 2011, replacing a (much cooler and much better located) Marina store in downtown Bothell. It had its first remodel in 2024, having somehow missed the Modern remodel wave, and I've been wanting to go ever since the Socal Supermarket Blogger posted about it last June. In fact, my immediate reaction was "I guess I know what I'm doing next weekend!", but I had underestimated how annoying it is to get here without a car. I had figured I would just take the bus to downtown Bothell, where the old store was (which is pretty easy to get to) and then walk from there, but I decided I wasn't all that interested in walking along roads that look like this. (I've done some crazy things to get to suburban stores, but that seems a bit too much!) So I had to wait for a holiday when I didn't have something else planned so I could take advantage of the weekday bus schedules, which still aren't great but are at least a little bit better. Anyway, I finally made it on MLK Day in January, fully expecting to post this store before my vacation as a continuation of the "new year, new store" theme, until I realized I had gone a bit overboard with pictures. Oops.

And yes, I do still have about 2/3 of my vacation to talk about (I'm probably about halfway through the total number of blog posts I'm going to write... I hope), but as you've seen over the past few days, my plan to write a post a day like I did last year crashed and burned. So I'm going back to something I know I can actually handle, and the remaining travel blogs will go up when I have the chance to write them. Maybe that will mean a post every few days, or maybe it will be a weekend-only thing... I don't know yet.
