Don't cry over spilled milk

Of course, milk doesn't come in old-fashioned glass bottles like this anymore either! It took me a while to figure out that the rather abstract graphic in the dairy section was supposed to show milk pouring out of a glass bottle, probably because I associate milk with paper cartons or plastic gallon jugs. Of course, it is still possible to buy very fancy brands of milk in glass bottles, and I've even seen them in Safeways in the past, but I don't believe Safeway sells them currently (at least, my local store doesn't).

Believe it or not, I actually saw a milkman making deliveries in New Hampshire last year! I suppose Albertsons/Shaw's has to compete with the milkmen out there. I reckon if there was any part of the country which still has that, upper New England would be it, lol.

    1. Seattle has milkmen too! They're a niche service, but I see their milk boxes on lots of porches in upscale neighborhoods (like Queen Anne). From the pictures in that article, it looks like they don't use glass bottles any longer, which is too bad.
