This decor's official name, Broadway, seems like a direct reference to these triangular signs used for non-service departments, which are clearly designed to look like theater marquees. It would have been neat if they had added a bit of neon to complete the look, but neon was out of fashion in the 00s. I'm not much of a fan of this design, but I always appreciate the out-of-the-box designs Albertsons came up with in this era compared with the fairly bland decor they switched to in the Supervalu era.
