On the way out, here's a view of the welcome sign from the other end of the vestibule. I like how the logo on the far wall matches the dark grey color of the floor logo nearby! Unfortunately, it looks like the roof isn't doing very well in this part of the store -- I suppose it isn't a surprise to find out that Albertsons isn't doing much maintenance on this building.
Ha, I guess the ceiling here is suffering from some of the same problems that the ceiling at my local Grocery Palace Krogertsons is suffering from! Link: https://houstonhistoricretail.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/IMG_4882-jpeg.avif
ReplyDeleteIn fairness to the Krogertsons, we did have two significant storms in the two months before that picture was taken and either one of those storms could have damaged the roof. Still, I guess these roofs need repairs. Hopefully if they do fix these roofs, they'll do a better job than what the Cully Neighborhood Blue & Gray Market Albertsons in Portland got where a roof repair led to the store catching on fire (not badly, fortunately).
Oh, I noticed that another one of the Krogers in my area, the second-closest one to me after the Krogertsons, just got new spoon cart signs at the front of the store. I have not been in there to see if the store is being remodeled (at least as of a few weeks ago, it had/has Bountiful with a mostly Millennium-era vinyl floor). I'm not sure if I want to see what's going on inside, seeing the spoon cart on the outside is bad enough!
