Around the corner

Things don't really improve heading into the back actionway, though there are a decent number of shoppers in this photo -- there's just so much space that it looks dead. The grand aisle basically wraps around here, with the meat department and bakery taking up the back wall. This store isn't that much larger than a normal grocery store, but it has some 80s superstore vibes going on with the excess space, odd layout (including sideways grocery aisles), and brightly-lit warehouse ceiling. The black holes above the service departments look particularly odd with the giant ducts coming out of them -- it would definitely look better if the soffits went all the way to the roof, but the empty space up at ceiling level just adds to the general odd feeling of this store in a way that kind of works.
