I'm not the kind of person to search around for old brands and models of elevators and escalators (there are plenty of those people out there), but it's still kind of neat to see something with the Westinghouse name proudly emblazoned on it all these years after the company ceased to exist in any meaningful manner. I'm sure these escalators are original to this store, and while they've been retrofitted with some modern safety features over the years, this picture makes it quite clear that there's no flat area between the fixed plate and the actual stair part like you would find on any escalator from the last... I don't know, many decades at least (even some of the earliest escalators had a flat landing area, but I can't figure out when it became an actual codified standard).
