For me, the view of Macy's from the north, looking down 61st Ave S from the I-405 overpass, is the iconic view of Southcenter. I have many memories of sitting in the car (or in more recent times, on the bus) looking down this hill at that striking modern facade. I credit this building (and therefore this view) for being a big part of what got me interested in architecture (and specifically modern architecture) in the first place, long before I had any real interest in retail -- especially malls and department stores, which I still don't find all that interesting when there isn't something cool like this to see.
That's neat!
