Round 1: Mervyn

Off to the east of Macy's, Round 1 occupies the top level of the former Mervyn's space, while 85C Bakery has an odd exterior-entrance-only space in part of the lower level (the rest is home to Seafood City, a grocery store that we'll see later). The building you can see behind it is Hotel Interurban, a bizarre 19-story high-rise apartment and hotel built in the middle of featureless flat sprawl, well over twice the height of anything else in the area. I have absolutely no idea why this was built here (there's no obvious transit connection, unlike the random high-rise buildings that pop up around SkyTrain stations in Vancouver), and it's a rather ugly (or at least boring) building too, not something that's making a statement on Southcenter's "skyline".
