This store may not have aisle markers, but I still ended up at aisle 12! I ended up checking out here despite having only one thing, as the express lane a few over was super busy; that was probably a mistake as I ended up waiting nearly 10 minutes to check out based on the timestamps of my photos! There weren't all that many people in line in front of me, but pretty much everyone had an insane amount of stuff they were buying.
Fittingly, as I'm about to wrap up this set, the postcard I mailed myself on my way to Eataly finally showed up today! It only took a month and a half... 🫤 I wish these things had tracking information as I'd love to know where it was sitting this whole time!
I'm not sure how credit cards are marketed in Europe. Most people in the US, from my experience at least, don't really care if they have a MasterCard or Visa. They just want the lowest interest rate/fees, most cash back/points, best travel perks, and so forth. That all comes from the issuing bank and not the credit card company so perhaps there isn't much reason for credit card companies to advertise as strongly as they did years ago. Discover and American Express might be a bit of a different story.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like that employee computer at the desktop is running Windows 7 or maybe even Vista! I suppose Eataly doesn't feel like sending money Redmond's way, lol.
Blogger is starting to eat posts for me again. Grr. This comment was obviously meant to go with another photo, but it wasn't posting there.
Yeah, that's why I was surprised to see all that Mastercard/Visa advertising. Discover and American Express are a bit different since they (generally) work as both the bank and the network, but Mastercard and Visa aren't companies that really seem to matter all that much. Visa in particular had tons of advertising in both Fiumicino and Istanbul airports, which definitely surprised me.
DeleteHa, I hadn't even noticed that! Windows 7 (much like XP) just won't die, especially in business systems!
