(Not quite) stepping inside

That was all in the past tense (and made up of fuzzy recollections) because shortly after Carrefour took over, they changed things up dramatically. They took over a neighboring street level space, but sealed off the basement level, leaving a much smaller (though very densely packed) space similar in size to a large American convenience store, or a somewhat below-average urban European grocery store. I suppose that's why this ended up with the Carrefour Express name!
