Everything we've seen so far is pretty much normal for a cheap Modern remodel, with the oddities I've mentioned being down to either this store's age or awkward carbon-copying of the previous Lifestyle interior. But Modern added one big oddity -- a dedicated prepared foods sign above the left half of the deli. These signs are normally only used in new-build stores and some larger converted Albertsons, stores that actually have dedicated prepared foods counters. This is, of course, one of the oldest and smallest Safeways still active around here, and the fact that it has any sort of prepared foods section is honestly pretty impressive, but it's nothing like what the other stores with this sign have. I feel like it would have made more sense to put the deli sign here, leave the cramped area where that is blank, and perhaps add a proper bakery sign too since there appears to be enough wall space for one.
